Rhys Millen is no stranger to speed, and for the last few years his high-speed antics have been powered Hyundai. That trends looks to continue as Hyundai just announced a renewed partnership with Rhys Millen Racing. Millen will be fielding a Veloster in this years Global RallyCross Championship. Last year was the first year Millen fielded a Veloster in RallyCross and Hyundai says that much ahs been learned and adjusted for this year’s series.

With the new Veloster Turbo going on sale this summer, Hyundai is hoping that a good RallyCross showing can help entice new buyers into showrooms. Steve Shannon, Hyundai’s vice president of marketing said, “Global rallycross is the perfect competitive motorsports arena for the Veloster. Both naturally appeal to younger enthusiasts.” He also added that, “Millen’s aggressive racing style coupled with superb precision make the most out of Veloster’s lightweight agility, creating a thrilling and formidable GRC rally car.”

Millen won’t be piloting the only Veloster as Disney XD is fielding a car that will be driven Stephan Verdier.

The GCR season consists of seven rounds with the last race being held in Las Vegas in September.
