According to various sources within Hyundai, it is shooting for the 50mpg barrier by year 2025. Today 50mpg is considered a safe range for clean diesels so Hyundai’s goal shows how it keeps challenging itself.
Apparently, with rising sales in US, Hyundai has the cash to invest in R&D now and that can only do good to the auto industry. Hyundai vehicles average 31 mpg today and the goal was to reach 35 mpg by year 2015 initially.
