The world of exotic supercars isn’t immune to recalls as Maserati will conducting a voluntary re-claim on certain GranTurismo models. The affected coupes are 2008 through 2010 model years and at this time, approximately 1,768 cars are at risk. The recall will cover both the hard top and convertible variants manufactured from June 2008 through March 2010. Notification to owners should begin in February of 2012.

The problem lies with the car’s rear tail lights. The lamp assembly may not have been installed properly leaving a high probability that both the brake and tail lights will simply stop working. The last thing an owner of a beautiful and expensive supercar wants is to be rear ended due to a manufacturing error. Maserati will instruct drivers to have their vehicles inspected by certified dealers so that the entire rear light assembly can be replaced. The remedy will take place free of charge.
