Two major companies found a unique way to lower their carbon footprint recently and it came in the form the latest Mitsubishi. Google Inc. and IGO CarSharing are the first to put into fleet use the all-new 2012 i-MiEV (i) electric vehicle. Even though each car was delivered with awe, they will not simply be put on display as both companies plan on using the zero emissions cars which will not only help lower fuel costs but assist Mitsubishi in further EV development.

The internet giant known as Google will be adding the i to its GFleet line of employee vehicles. Consisting entirely of plug-in cars and trucks, the GFleet is aided by the United States’ largest corporate EV charging infrastructure. Currently, there are 147 level 2 charging stations scattered around the west coast with plenty more planned for the near future. Like Google, IGO CarSharing will put the 2012 i through its paces by installing the car into its fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles. A member-based, non-profit car sharing firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, IGO was created to help establish sustainable development and livable urban communities. Hopefully, the new i will help the city of Chicago breath cleaner as it strengthens the impressive line up of low emissions vehicles offered by IGO that is now more than 250 strong.
