The joint venture that was created in December of 2010 by Nissan Motor Co, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation was recently issued an expansion. The original purpose of the NMKV Co. partnership was to build all-new superminis for the Japanese market. This is still taking place, but as of now, the two companies will be supplying even more products to each other.

Nissan will be supplying Mitsubishi with a much larger vehicle than the initially planned superminis. In the summer of 2012, a Mitsubishi branded Nissan Fuga luxury sedan will hit the Japanese market. To return the favor, Mitsubishi will supply Nissan with their version of the MINICAB-MiEV. This commercial mini electric vehicle will be in Nissan’s fleet sometime in 2012. These new additions to the joint venture have not changed the previous agreement set in December. Mitsubishi will still be receiving a version of the NV200 Vanette which will see work in October 2011.
