Nissan is revealing a new concept car in Brazil this weekend, and it is a stark departure from many of its other products. The concept is called the Extrem and is a “high-character” concept with a bold design.

Nissan says the car is a, “radical concept car aimed squarely at young (and young-at-heart) car enthusiasts keen to make a statement.” We think the concept looks aggressive and sporting, and we aren’t alone. “We call it Baby Beast,” says Robert Bauer, senior design manager for the project at Nissan Design America. “We see it as an urban rally car, a tough little street fighter that can handle the urban jungle with agility and confidence.”

The car makes use of many interesting design features like a full wrap-around glass font with an A-pillar that is “see-through”. The body also features overlapping panels that Nissan says are designed to “create a feeling of layered armored toughness.”

The vehicle may look large in the photos but it will be relatively similar in footprint to the Juke. The company is calling it a 2+2 so there is little room inside. If produced it would make use of the Juke’s 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, and be available with a torque vectoring AWD system.
