Nissan’s performance division NISMO is gearing up for the opening of their new factory near Yokohama, Japan on Tuesday. The new move, Nissan says, will embody their new direction and revised core mission.

Although NISMO has been building and tuning faster cars for nearly 30 years, the NISMO name hasn’t ventured beyond the spotlight outside of car enthusiasts and gamers. Nissan hopes new NISMO-branded special editions on models like the Juke and 370Z will bring increased recognition.

The NISMO Juke and 370Z are already on sale in Europe and will go on sale in the U.S. this spring. Go-fast street models aren’t the only things expected to come from NISMO. They’re also expected to reveal details about future plans for motorsports activities at Tuesday’s event. Due to the time difference, we’ll be getting any breaking news Monday evening, February 25, 2013.
