Opel, a division of General Motor, has named Tina Mueller as chief marketing officer (CMO), reports The Detroit News.

Mueller, a former executive at German soapmaker Henkel AG, will start this new job from Aug. 1.

According to the newspaper, “Duncan Aldred, who replaced Alfred Rieck as head of sales and marketing on an interim basis in January, will retain responsibility for sales and keep his post as head of Vauxhall, Opel’s sister brand in the U.K.”

Thomas Sedran, Opel’s strategy chief, will move from the division on July 1 to become head of European operations for GM’s Chevrolet brand. He succeeds Susan Docherty, who is leaving GM.
