The all-new Porsche 911 may have only been out for just a few months, but an issue has already caused a voluntary recall. Affecting approximately 1,232 2012 model year sports cars is a problem with both the fuel and coolant lines. During the manufacturing process, a line feeding coolant may have been placed at a point that would cause an interference with the fuel line fitting. Through the course of time, the fuel line could get pulled from the quick connector resulting in a leak. Multiple outcomes could be played out such as an engine misfire and or stall as well as an entire vehicle fire if in the presence of an ignition source.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), all affected cars are 2012 911 Carrera S models. If manufactured from October 26, 2011 through January 24, 2012, the German sports coupe could be at risk. The recall and notification to owners is expected to begin sometime in April of this year. To remedy the issue, certified dealers will inspect and if needed, replace the fuel line with an all-new piece and do so at no extra charge to drivers.
