When Nissan announced that anyone playing the Gran Turismo video game would have had a chance to become a true race car driver, there was much skepticism. It was believed that no couch racer could ever develop the skills necessary to cut a line down a proper track in a real vehicle. Fast forward a few years and several race wins later, insert foot into mouth.

Nissan took a chance on an untapped source of racing talent, and came out on top. This year the GT Academy 2010 winner, Jordan Tresson, will be racing in one of the most elite series of motor sport available today, the FIA World Endurance campaign. Jordan is beginning the 2012 season by piloting an LMP2 class racer during the 60th running of the Sebring 12 Hours endurance race on March 17.

Jordan will be teaming up with the Nissan Partner Team and Signatech Nissan, the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup Champions. His team mates include Franck Mailleux and 2011 Le Mans LMP2 winner, Olivier Lombard.

The fast and furious Sebring race begins at 1030 am on St. Patrick’s Day.
