It is not officially a recall, just an investigation, but with 62,000 cars affected and the complaint being loss of braking power we felt it was necessary to share.

The story comes courtesy of the Detroit News and apparently the NHTSA is conducting an investigative probe into Mazda CX-9s from 2010 and 2011. The complaint in question involves the brake pedal becoming extremely stiff and very difficult to push. This makes it very hard to apply proper brake pressure and bring the vehicle to a halt. As it sits there are no identified causes for the issue.

Thankfully there have been no accidents or deaths reported due to this issue, but if you are the owner of a potentially affected vehicle, be careful and start working out those legs. If you are affected at some point, having the extra muscle power may come in handy.
