The Automotive Lease Guide (ALG) has announced its annual Residual Value Awards and Subaru has taken home three. Winning Best Midsize Utility Vehicle and Best Midsize Car are the 2012 Outback and Legacy respectively. The company itself also managed to take Best Mainstream Brand for 2012, the third year in a row for Subaru. Taken into consideration are things such as vehicle performance history, industry trends, overall quality, price and marketing strategies which are all determinants of a Residual Value winner.

“The Legacy’s standard all-wheel drive, above-average fuel economy and spacious interior appeal to a wide swath of the market, helping to keep demand high,” said Raj Sundaram, for ALG. “With the brawny new generation of Outback, Subaru continues to build on its reputation for delivering what consumers want in a crossover, the handling of a car with great utility and roomy interiors.” ALG went on to mention that Subaru carries some of the industry’s most loyal owners. These “fiercely loyal devotees” believe in the brand due to its strong quality and ability to remain practical all while staying progressive.
