The Volvo XC90 large SUV has been around since 2002 and hasn’t really change since then. In fact, a second generation XC90 has never seen the light of day and thus, the current people mover is beginning to be called “old.” Recently, Volvo USA announced that finally a new model is soon to be roaming the streets. This will not be a refresh or face-lift but an actual new XC90.

Word is still out on what will drive the next generation SUV. A variant of the latest generation S60 turbo straight six will be an obvious and perhaps the Yamaha built 4.4 liter V8 will see continued duty as well. The underpinnings could be all new, but more than likely the new XC90 will share common blood with the smaller XC60.
