For the twelfth year in a row, eCityofStyle.com has issued its Auto Style Awards. Taking home one after only being on the market for a few months is Hyundai’s all-new Veloster. More than 300 new cars were considered by the online publication’s judges and finalists were selected due to their exterior and interior styling as well as performance, fun-t0-drive factor, exclusivity and the “head-turn” factor. “Gone are the days of Hyundai’s budget car status. Today, the Korean automaker is a legitimate threat to the establishment, designing cars that look considerably more expensive than they really are,” said eCityofStyle editors.

An online source for a view into the world design, style and class, eStyleofCity.com are a tough group to please. Not exclusive to the automotive world, the award’s judges consisted of fashion editors, stylists, fashion photographers and designers. The 2012 Veloster joins a rather high-end group of winners for this year that included the BMW 6-Series, Fiat 500, Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG and the Range Rover Evoque. “The Veloster is perhaps Hyundai’s most successful execution of its new design language, called Fluidic Sculpture. From the tight front end to the sculpted side creases to the powerful wheel arches, the Veloster’s exterior is both aggressive and sleek,” said the editors.
