The biggest member of the Mini stable is the Countryman, and despite relatively brisk sales, the machine is getting a little old. With a proper replacement a few years away, AutoGuide is reporting that Mini will be bringing a visual refresh to the New York Auto Show to keep the machine fresh in people’s minds.

The changes are going to be mostly cosmetic, and buyers should expect the traditional changes to bumpers and headlamps that usually accompany these mid-cycle refreshes. No word on how drastically the interior is going to change. We suspect that it will begin to take on the more modern design of the new 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop, complete with the exclusion of that massive speedometer that was a Mini signature for so many years.

Expect the true next-generation Countryman to be released sometime in 2016.
