A certain number of 2012 model year Cadillac CTS sedans are being recalled for a fairly dangerous issue. Due to a manufacturing flaw, the retention nut for the power vacuum brake boost pushrod might not have been torqued down to its proper settings. A vital part of the connecting link between the brake booster and the pedal itself, the nut will cause the pushrod to separate from the pedal if left loose. If this were to happen, a compete loss of braking ability would result.

As of now, the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) has only reported 674 Cadillacs to be affected by the recall. Cars manufactured between October 21 and October 26 are the ones at risk. Certified Cadillac dealers will inspect the retention nut and torque it to its proper specifications if necessary. The remedy will happen free of charge and notification to owners is currently underway.
