Cadillac has taken a very important step to make the road to the ATS launch even shorter. Scheduled to hit U.S. dealerships in August, production of the compact caddy recently got underway at its Lansing Grand River, Michigan home. Headed straight for the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the ATS sports rear drive, loads of luxury and a razor tuned suspension. On top of the classic sports sedan philosophies, the 2013 Cadillac ATS will have the added push of an all-new second shift and approximately 600 men and women.

“A successful launch needs a great process and a great product, but at the heart of it all are the people, and the care they put into each and every vehicle,” said Tony Francavilla, Lansing regional plant manager. As the ATS begins its build process, the Lansing Grand River assembly plant will continue to piece together CTS model line as well. Riding on an all-new rear drive platform, the little Cadillac comes with a variety of engines and two six speed transmissions. After the Michigan built sedan makes it to the hands of the U.S. public, it will be sent to global markets by the end of the year.
