Chrysler is recalling about 2,500 model-year 2013 Dodge Challengers to address a potential short-circuit that could cause a wire harness to overheat and possibly lead to fire.

The recall affects 2013 Dodge Challengers assembled with V-6 engines during an eight-week period ending Jan. 24, 2013.

The company said in a statement that it is aware of seven such incidents. However, none caused injury.

Owners are these cars are advised to immediately refrain from driving their vehicles and to contact their dealers, Chrysler said, adding that affected owners not to park their vehicles in or near any structures.

Loaner vehicles will be provided, free of charge, until repairs are complete.

The total recall population is 4,459 vehicles, of which about 1,900 are in dealer hands, Chrysler said.
