General Motors said it will invest $133 million to add a new stamping press at its Wentzville Assembly and Stamping Plant in Missouri, reports The Detroit News.

According to the news report, an 114,000-square-foot stamping plant addition will give the company more manufacturing flexibility. The new press will help boost the plant’s capacity to stamp fenders, doors and other parts for the new pickups and full-size vans.

The move would create or retain 55 jobs.

In total, GM will spend $513 million related to producing its all-new midsize Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, which will be built at Wentzville. In November 2011, GM announced a $380 million investment at Wentzville for midsize trucks.

The stamping plant is expected to be operational in early 2015.
