The Ferrari 488 Spider is the newest car to come from the fine minds at Maranello. A drop-top version of the new 488 GTB, the 488 Spider is the Italian’s first mid-engined, turbocharged convertible. It uses the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 as the normal 488 GTB, with the same 661 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. Despite having the complicated power convertible top, the 488 Spider only weighs 110 pounds more than the Coupe, and it’s actually 20 pounds lighter than the old 458 Spider that it replaces. Thanks to this low weight gain, the Spider has the same 3.0-second 0-60 time as the 488 GTB.

Top speed is reduced slightly from its hard-topped sibling, but with the limiter set at 203 mph, this car is still one of the fastest convertibles in the world. With more than 650 horsepower, a top speed over 200 mph, and infinite headroom, all wrapped up in stunning body with a Prancing Horse on the nose. I don’t see how you can be any more qualified for #SupercarSunday than that.
