Meet the Lazareth LM 847. A striking new creation from a team of French and Swiss maniacs, it is a motorcycle that features four wheels and a Maserati-sourced V8 for its powerplant. That eight-cylinder is a 4.7-liter, lending this monster the nomenclature for its name. Shifting duties for this bike are handled by… well, nothing. Instead of gears, it uses a single-speed hydraulic coupling to send 457 lb-ft of torque to the dual rear chains. No need to shift, gears just twist the throttle and go.
Visually, the bike is intimidating with the exposed intake manifold right under your nose. While the bike is dominated by the engine on either side of the cylinder heads are custom stainless headers that add some beauty to the design.. The whole bike weighs just under 900 pounds, meaning its sure to be quick, so its sitting on Michelin Power Cup Evo rubber. It makes sense to use the best when you are dealing with power like this. Bringing things to a halt is a gigantic set of 16.5-inch Brembo rotors up front grabbed by eight-piston Nissin calipers and out back you will find 10-inch rotors with four-piston calipers.
Of course, not all of this is new thinking.
This machine is similar to the Viper-powered Tomahawk concept from 2003, but with a few tasteful modifications. This bike’s advanced suspension is powered by TFX and it has four independently-suspended wheels that allow it to lean in the turns, just like a normal motorcycle. This bike is bringing a whole new meaning to super bike, pushing out the same power we have come to know and love from our sports cars, but at a much lighter weight. Just hang on and enjoy the ride, and kids, don’t try this at home.
