Lots of eyes are on the Super Bowl every year, which means lots of eyes on advertising.

General Motors realized this and posted no fewer than five commercials during the big game. One of these spots, a 30-second trailer for the upcoming 2013 Cadillac ATS, has been named the most viewed single advertising spot in U.S. television history.

This information comes courtesy a study performed by Kantar Media that found the Cadillac commercial reached an audience rating of 43.5, the highest of all the advertising spots during the game. With the game having a record audience of 111.3 million viewers, that puts the Cadillac ATS spot on top. The high rating was attributed to the spots timing, being aired during the games intense fourth quarter.

This is not the first time a GM commercial has held the most viewed title. The previous record was held by an advertisement for the Chevrolet Camaro that aired during last year’s Super Bowl XLV.
