Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, (VCNA) reported U.S. sales of 4,441 units, a 23.8 percent decrease from August 2009. Year-to-date sales are down 12 percent over the first eight months of 2010.

In Canada, Volvo sales were down 1.1 percent in August with a total of 521 vehicles sold. Year-to-date sales are up 4.8 percent in Canada.

“We are excited for the all-new S60 to go on sale in late September,” said Doug Speck, President and CEO of VCNA. “It’s going to be a game changer for us and I believe it will win over more than a few driving enthusiasts.”

The S60 has been a major volume contributor for VCNA and the all-new S60 looks to continue that trend in the third and fourth quarters this year.
