Volvo Cars of North America reported U.S. sales of 4,152 units, a 12 percent decrease from September 2009. Year-to-date sales are down 12 percent over the first nine months of 2010.

In Canada, Volvo sales were up 5.7 percent in September with a total of 537 vehicles sold. Year-to-date sales are up 4.9 percent in Canada.

The all-new 2011 S60 sports sedan went on sale at the end of September and looks to bolster Volvo’s sales in the fourth quarter. A major volume contributor for VCNA, the supply of previous-generation S60s has been fully depleted. The all-new S60 with available Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake, dynamic handling characteristics and stunning design carries a base price of just $37,700*.

Contributing to Volvo’s sales is the Volvo Safe + Secure Coverage Plan. A complimentary coverage program, the Safe + Secure Coverage Plan wraps a comprehensive list of benefits into one package. Volvo has combined additional time and mileage limits on warranty repairs and roadside assistance coverage, and has increased wear-item and factory scheduled maintenance coverage. Specifically, it provides:

  • 5 years/60,000 miles of New Car Warranty
  • 5 years/60,000 miles of Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance
  • 5 years/60,000 miles of Wear and Tear Coverage
  • 5 years/Unlimited miles of Volvo On Call Roadside Assistance.
