Volkswagen of America is conducting a voluntary recall of certain Jettas, Jetta SportWagens and Golfs equipped with the 2.0 liter TDI Clean Diesel engine. The issue stems from engine vibrations that can cause a fuel like to crack and leak. If this were to occur, the ultimate result could be an engine fire. Volkswagen is doing what it can to hunt these cars down and remedy the issue as fast as they can.

The affected cars are Jettas and Jetta SportWagens built from May 2008 through September 2011. Golfs produced from May 2009 through September 2011 are also affected. In total, approximately 159,884 cars being recalled. Notification to owners will begin at the start of November and Certified dealers will be inspecting and fixing the issue free of charge to customers. If affected, fuel injection lines will be replaced and engine vibration dampers will be installed.
