Buick’s presence at the Los Angeles Auto Show was smaller than I expected. They had a small stand near the entrance, across from Cadillac, and they had almost nothing to display. Unlike Chevy who had several versions of all of their cars, Buick posted just a single model of each car, with most of the booth dedicated to the new 2017 LaCrosse.

Of course, being the brands largest seller, it makes sense for Buick to put all the focus on the new sedan. The debut was typical auto show affair with a slightly sheer sheet covering the shape, where it was ripped off under the pulsing lights and thumping music.

The new car looks handsome enough keep interest in the car, but it’s not as dynamic as the last generation was when it debuted. The new LaCrosse will still well, and it has lots of small improvements that should make life more comfortable for owners, but it feels safe.

I look forward to testing it later to see just how many of these improvements matter.
