AC Schnitzer has a reputation for modifying BMWs in a very unique way. Radical is not a foreign concept to the German company and history shows us that they are not afraid to modify any BMW. Their most recent example is based on the second generation BMW X3 small SUV and it is by no means subtle. Needless to say, there is no mistaking the 2012 AC Schnitzer X3 for anything else.

Their showcase model features all the items that are now available for purchase for the X3. The AC Schnitzer accessories include lowering springs, special steering wheel, shift knob and floor mats as well as a stainless steel exhaust for the gas powered models. For the diesel X3s, AC Schnitzer provides an ECU upgrade that brings the power (for the turbo diesel 2.0d) up from 177 to 210 horsepower. Modifications for the larger displacement diesel are in developement now.

Just like all AC Schnitzer’s in the past, the most striking feature about their X3 is it’s appearance. The new aerodynamics kit includes a new front bumper with a splitter, subtle roof wing, lower side skirts and an aggressive rear bumper. To add to this new body, a plethora of massive wheels are available. Sized anywhere from 18 inches to the show car’s 22 inch wheels, all are available in a unique silver on black trim.
