Chrysler is planning to move production of its next-generation Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont crossover utility vehicles from Toluca, Mexico, to Sterling Heights, Mich., according to a report published by WardsAuto/AutomotiveCompass.

Chrysler’s Sterling Heights plant already builds Chrysler 200 sedan. All three vehicles will be built on a common platform that Chrysler shares with Fiat’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Sam Fiorani, senior automotive market analyst for AutomotiveCompass, said.

Chrysler will begin production on the next-generation Journey and Freemont in January 2016, according to Fiorani.
