Building cars from LEGO is not a new thing, but recent years have seen a pretty dramatic rise in high-quality, highly detailed LEGO car models. From the classic VW Camper Van, to the Mini Cooper and the Ferrari F40 we featured a few weeks back, LEGO cars are becoming legitimate models that merge the special fun and nostalgia of LEGO with some of the world’s greatest cars.

These cars are being made possible through a program called LEGO Ideas where people can submit ideas to LEGO for new models. If those models get enough votes, LEGO can decide to release them as a Creator set. This is how the Mini Cooper, Ghostbuster’s ECTO-1 and the Ferrari F40 came to be.

Since there are already some cool cars being made, I thought it would be fun to head over to the LEGO Ideas site and see what other cool cars I could find. Turns out there are a ton. Some of my favorites that I found include the new Ford GT, FD-Generation Mazda RX-7, Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series, and even a model of the Le Mans winning 1971 Porsche 917K.

You can see photos of all these wild models in our gallery below, and if you want to see them get produced, you just need to head over to the LEGO Ideas site and vote for them. Just search for any one of the model names at the top of the page.

GO VOTE, ALREADY!
