Jeep and Chrysler LLC are looking to recall a certain number of Wranglers intended for mail purposes. Approximately 5,334 right hand drive (RHD) models are at risk due to a faulty air bag system. The clockspring assemblies on the driver’s side may compromise the closed circuit, causing the air bag light to illuminate. When this light shows itself, deployment will not happen in the event of a crash.

Wranglers at risk are 2008 through 2012 model years manufactured between February 1, 2007 and October 10, 2011. The recall is only for the U.S.-spec RHD models and Chrysler will begin and finish its notification process during November. To remedy the issue, Jeep dealerships will inspect and replace the clockspring at no extra cost to vehicle owners.
