The way a car sounds can be just as important as how a car feels when it is driven. The mechanical symphony of an engine can enhance the perfect drive, or destroy the simplest commute. The engineers at Cadillac understand this fact and have spent some considerable time tuning the sound of the all-new Cadillac ATS.

Kyle Stanforth, the noise and vibration engineer for Cadillac’s performance team, stated that the ATS is engineered to enhance the performance-tuned sounds.

Being that this is a Cadillac, the team also did their best to remove any unwanted noises as well. The intake system and exhaust have both been designed to ensure maximum performance with minimum sound pollution to the cabin. The ATS is also equipped with Bose Active Sound Management technology that generates cancellation signals to help reduce unwanted noise, while also reducing the added weight of acoustic materials.

Stanforth added that, “Cadillac customers expect a level of refinement beyond what most cars have. Yes, its quiet, but it’s more than that…The ATS sounds distinctly like a Cadillac should. We’ve created a signature sound that expresses Cadillac power, refinement and luxury – and we make it sing.”
