We were just notified that Land Rover completed an epic journey between Solihull, UK to Mumbai, India in their new Range Rover Diesel Hybrid Prototypes. The journey lasted a total of 53 days and the team drove through 13 countries.

This expedition was named “Silk Trail 2013” after the famous Silk Road that was made famous by the Chinese and Venetian trader Marco Polo.

This journey enabled Land Rover team to collect over 300 GB of tech info about the prototypes that would help enable future research for the production model. They were able to achieve 36 to 37 MPG between the three Rovers which is an amazing feat. Check out the high resolution photos and video from the Journey below
