If you are in the market for a brand new Subaru, you should maybe wait just a few months and pick up a 2017 model this summer. Subaru just announced that the WRX, STI and XV Crosstrek are getting some slight upgrades to visuals and safety.

If you are a fan of the XV Crosstrek (we certainly are) you can snag a special limited edition model in a cool color called “Pure Red” that looks pretty great. Only 1500 are scheduled to be produced, so you likely won’t see another on the road. For the WRX crowd, Subaru is adding the option to get reverse automatic breaking on Limited models with EyeSight. If you have your eyes set on the STI, you can now get blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alerts on the base car instead of being forced into a higher trim.

Pricing is pretty similar for the 2017 models as well. Subaru says the WRX is getting a small $100 bump to its base MSRP, while the top-level STI limited model keeps the same price.

No word yet on if the Special Edition XV Crosstrek will carry a price premium, but keep yours locked to AutoTalk.com and we will update you guys as soon as we know.
